Free writing for The Hunger Games

The book Hunger Games is an incredible book. All the detail that goes into this book is amazing. The author really makes you feel like you are there. It is so easy to forget everything that is going on around you and block out all noise when you read this book. You get so involved and so focused on what is happening it’s awesome. There is a part in the book that the character is in a room before she enters the games. In this room you see your family and the ones close to you one more time before you enter the arena just in case you do not come back out. Collins, the author, talks about the room and how he says, "It’s the richest place I've ever been in, with thick, deep carpets and a velvet couch and chairs." Things like this that Collins says make you feel like you can see it right in front of you. It is like you are actually walking through the room. The emotions that the text gives you are kind of different. Sometimes you feel sorry for the main characters because they seem like they had it very rough. The main characters father has died and she has to support the family at age 11 because her mother shuts off the world. Katniss, the main character, talks about how she has to hunt and gather as much food as possible so that the family doesn’t look like they are starved. If they look to hungry then the children have to be taken to the children’s home away from each other and their mother.

Recommendation

Thirteen Reasons Why is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone. I am not much of a read, if a reader at all, but I loved this book. The think anyone that enjoys reading and some that do not will like this book. This book keeps you interested the whole time and wondering what would happen next. A few parts in the book feel like they drag on but then your right back into it. This book really makes you start wondering a lot of things in life. It makes you think about all the things that you have done and said and ways that you could have changed them or maybe just kept something to your self. I never have been one to make fun of other people or put anyone down in any type of way that I know of and after reading this book I really do not know what kind of affect I have had on people. Thirteen Reasons Why will really get your mind wondering and make you look back on your life and the things you have done and wonder what the true affect you had on that person with the things you did. This book isn’t for everyone but I think that you should at least start it and see how hard it really is to put down.
